First off there is over 2,700 species of snakes, never knew that. Snakes live everywhere you'll find them in rain forests, jungles, even your backyard. The only places you won't find them is the arctic circle and the antarctic.
Ever wonder why snakes are so flexible? It's because they have between 100 and 400 vertebrae and just as many ribs. Snakes have 2 lungs, a long liver, kidneys and intestine. The last part of a snake is a small anal opening covered by scales called an anal plate.
Did you know snakes have four ways of moving? Way one is the Concertina method: when snakes bunch themselves up and throw themselves forward. Way 2 is the Serpentine method: when a snake pushes off of a bumpy or big surface and move in a wavy motion. Way 3 is the Side winding method: where the snake will lift up the middle of it's body then force itself forward. Way 4 is the Rectilinear method: where the snake uses some scales on it's body to move forward slowly.
oh yeah cool
